You don\u2019t necessarily need to have any interior design experience, but you can ensure that your rental property is presentable and cozy for when the tenant moves in. Here are some of our interior design tips for your rental!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Choose Flooring Wisely!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to flooring, there are more than a few options depending on taste, convenience and practicality. Both carpet and wood have advantages and disadvantages, but as a general note, if you decide to move forward with carpet, ensure that it\u2019s in a neutral colour in order to invite universal appeal from prospective tenants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having a carpet that is too vibrant may turn off prospective tenants, as they will be unable to change it. With wooden flooring, its easier to maintain and has more of a modern look. However, it can also make the property a bit colder in temperature and can be noisy, which may invite complaints from neighbors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Incorporate Soft Furnishings & Decor<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Making your rental as attractive as possible will increase your chances of leasing it quicker to a prospective tenant. When you have a viewing, ensure that the property is dressed well and has a comfortable vibe and appearance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don\u2019t want to make the place look uninviting and you also don\u2019t want a place that is too heavily furnished, as that the tenant may feel like it\u2019s not their own. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using soft furnishings like cushions and throws can help a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t Be Afraid of Paint<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Giving the walls and ceilings a refresh with some paint shows prospective tenants that the property will be well looked after and maintained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neutral, light and subtle colours will help to give off an airy and spacious feel. In addition to this paint is generally easier to maintain than wallpaper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lighting Makes a Huge Difference!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Lighting is one of the most important elements of interior design. It can make a massive difference in how people view the property. Choosing between \u2018cool\u2019 lighting and \u2018warm\u2019 lighting will give your property a completely different feel and look. Warm lights tend to work well in the bedroom or living room. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whilst, cool lighting is perfect for work areas where you need to see what we\u2019re doing with clarity. As an example, a place that could use cool light is a kitchen or study. Cool lighting also works well in the garage or bathroom as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
